To help a new generation of young people understand the benefits of union membership, Bread and Roses Cultural Project, the cultural arm of SEIU District 1199S in New York City, sponsored "Why Unions Matter," an art exhibit featuring works by high school students. The students' works first were displayed in June at Gallery 1199 in New York. Here is a sampling of the powerful art these young people created.
